Looking around churchyards is something I do quite a lot of. There are often great subjects, combining interesting old architecture, foliage and other shapes in the stones, background scenery, etc. They're also usually very peaceful (apart from a few times that I've arrived on grass cutting day!) Here I took my plein air friends, The Exiles, to see this large, somewhat spooky and dilapidated house, and a few of us settled to paint the view of it across an overgrown section of the churchyard.
