As I approached this scene I could see the composition coming together perfectly before me. A classic English farm track kind of scene, so it struck me, and I straight away knew it was where I'd be putting my easel. I did move slightly that puddle, so as to make it fit well, and allow a reflection of the tree on the horizon. A difficult painting owing to it being a very warm sunny afternoon with the palette and everything else drying out constantly. But I put some clouds into it, which were there ahead of me albeit for quite a short time at the beginning.
