A visit to Burford a couple of days before Christmas, and the winding river Windrush was over its banks, making an interesting view. Perched two feet from the water's edge, I often think walking boots really are a plein air painter's most important piece of kit! The reflection of the church came and went in the breeze, the low winter sun came and went too, and I saw not a single person whilst I was here; just a couple of swans. I think everyone else must have been doing last minute Christmas shopping. I know where I'd rather be!
