I was lucky to paint this, my last plein air of the year, one November morning. I had to remember the light effect, as for most of the time the sun was stuck in plentiful cloud, and it was also rather cold. But an inspiring scene, especially when the light did come out. Fortunately it did quite close to the end, and I'd been saving most of the shadowed areas until that point, in hope of that occurring. A great little village, with other inspiring vantage points, which I'll be returning to paint another time.
