The view of the castle from this vantage point won me over instantly and I unpacked my bag, placed my easel and cracked on immediately. However, my position was very exposed on a walkway over the river and almost as if in a wind tunnel. Such challenges must be faced when the subject demands it! It's all about the subject for me, and I'm rarely willing to compromise just because I might fail. The easel was at a flat angle to stop it blowing over, and even then I had to quickly grasp it a couple of times. I thought initially I hadn't done the scene justice, but later - all considered - it's got something and it was one of those fun 'battles'.
