Painted during a heatwave in July 2019. I went camping for a few days of plein air painting and exploring the area with a view to potentially running a future course from here. It really was hot, and in the full glare of the sun this was tricky to say the least. Conveying the huge expanse of rock covered beach here with the tide a long way out is difficult especially I think without any buildings or other man-made types of content in the scene to provide a different kind of interest or shape. There are a couple of figures, very distant walking along the water's edge, if you can spot them.
